Ebony Music, Inc. is a national organization committed to promoting Black classical pianists and piano music by Black composers through education, community enrichment, performances, and scholarships.
Ebony Music Inc. will aim to teach Black youth piano music at the highest level of excellence. A significant emphasis on the musical material used in the educational program will be piano music by Black composers.
Ebony Music Inc. will provide the largest online database of piano music by Black composers. This database will showcase thousands of piano compositions at various levels by Black composers. Alongside the database will be recordings of the music, teaching demonstrations, and information on where to locate/purchase the music.
Community engagement is the heart of Ebony Music Inc. Students enrolled in the educational program will be required to perform twice a year in their communities across the country. Building relationships with Black communities, music communities, music institutions, and music organizations is a crucial component to the vision of this organization.
Create mentorship opportunities for Black high school students wanting to major in piano or composition.
Ebony Music Inc. will excite audiences, students, and educators by creating musical performance platforms for professional Black pianists across the country and creating a national competition for emerging Black pianists.
The BLCK Scholarship (Beard, Leah, Carlos, and Kriewaldt) fund will create scholarships for students enrolled in the educational program and help purchase pianos for those in need.
